Corporate Action Specialist (100%) – Contract, Immediate Start

About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a Corporate Action Specialist on a 100% contract through its external payroll partner, with an immediate start for 12 months and possible extension. The role covers mandatory and voluntary corporate action events across global markets and all products, for the Singapore and Hong Kong booking centres.

Key responsibilities

• Process corporate action events professionally and accurately, following internal guidelines and policies
• Manage client relationships internally and externally, and coordinate with internal departments, sub-custodians, custodians, agents and brokers
• Monitor incoming queries and reply or hold replies within a reasonable timeframe
• Review daily inward and outward SWIFT messages relating to corporate actions
• Process and reconcile positions and entitlements arising from corporate action transactions, and confirm entitlements so postings are accurate and timely
• Review daily reconciliation breaks and perform a pre-market reconciliation review to avoid missed or incomplete processing of voluntary events
• Take part in user acceptance testing when required
• Act with honesty, integrity and due care, manage conflicts of interest and comply with applicable laws and regulations

Required profile

• Diploma or degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in banking or a related discipline
• Relevant experience in corporate actions and settlements

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of corporate actions and tax
• Knowledge of SWIFT messages MT56x/54x is an advantage
• Handling US restricted securities and tax-related reporting/reclaim is an advantage
• Handling bond restructuring and claims for defaulted instruments is an advantage
