Corporate Actions Specialist

About the role

Julius Baer is hiring a Corporate Actions Specialist to process mandatory and voluntary corporate action events across global markets and all products, covering the Singapore and Hong Kong booking centres. The specialist ensures daily activities are carried out professionally and accurately while following internal guidelines and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal departments and external sub-custodians, custodians, agents and brokers so that daily work meets organisational standards, and respond to queries or hold replies within a reasonable time.
• Review daily incoming and outgoing SWIFT messages relating to corporate actions.
• Process and reconcile positions and the entitlements due from corporate action transactions, and monitor confirmation of entitlements so that entries are accurate and timely.
• Perform daily reviews of reconciliation breaks and of daily reconciliations before market deadlines to avoid operational loss from missed or incomplete processing of voluntary events.
• Take part in user acceptance testing when required.
• Act with honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing, conflict-of-interest management and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, working with the relevant teams on regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience in banking or a related discipline.
• Good communication skills, integrity, initiative, independence and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
• Relevant experience in corporate actions and settlements is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of corporate actions and tax.
• Knowledge of SWIFT messages MT56x/54x is an advantage.
• Handling of US restricted securities, tax reporting and reclaim, bond restructuring and claims on defaulted instruments are advantages.
