Counsellor - Student Wellbeing

About the role

NTU's University Counselling Centre is looking for a Counsellor to support student wellbeing and mental health across undergraduate and graduate programmes. You will provide counselling, work with internal and external stakeholders to build a campus-wide approach to mental health, and join a team of more experienced mental health practitioners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional counselling, including risk and need assessments, intervention plans and case formulation, in person or online
• Prepare assessment reports, present cases and refer to social services organisations
• Co-manage sensitive crisis cases with experienced practitioners and consult on at-risk students
• Maintain accurate clinical records and uphold legal, ethical and data privacy standards
• Design and run wellbeing training and annual wellbeing projects, and contribute to quality improvement projects
• Work with schools, residence halls and support teams, and in interdisciplinary teams with psychologists and SEN specialists
• Liaise with psychiatrists, doctors and social service agencies, and refer to external services such as family therapy
• Collect and analyse data to improve mental health support, and support the daily operations of the centre

Required profile

• Master's degree in counselling; preferably a registered counsellor with the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) or equivalent
• At least 3 years of professional counselling experience
• Experience with young adults, preferably in an educational setting
• Experience in multi-disciplinary teams is advantageous
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and strong organisational skills
