Customs & Trade Compliance Executive / Senior Executive

About the role

The Customs & Trade Compliance Executive supports COSCO Shipping Lines’ international trade operations by ensuring all import, export and transhipment activities comply with Singapore Customs regulations and relevant Free Trade Agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit import, export and transhipment declarations via TradeNet.
• Process applications for Certificates of Origin and FTA certificates (Form D, Form E, RCEP, Form AJ, Chamber CO).
• Apply for Controlled Goods, Strategic Goods and Transhipment permits, as well as other regulatory licences.
• Review product data, HS codes, origin and destination to determine correct customs documentation.
• Maintain compliance with Singapore Customs rules, trade laws and internal policies.
• Liaise with Singapore Customs, government agencies, chambers of commerce and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor regulatory changes and provide customs advice to business units.
• Investigate and resolve customs declaration discrepancies.
• Support departmental tasks and ad‑hoc projects as needed.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business or related field.
• 3–5 years of Singapore Customs and trade compliance experience.
• Hands‑on experience with TradeNet and Portnet systems.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore Customs regulations, import/export procedures and customs documentation.
• Familiarity with Certificates of Origin, FTA applications and Controlled Goods permits.
• Good understanding of HS‑Code classification and Rules of Origin.
• Ability to work independently and resolve customs issues.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
