Cyber Security Analyst – Information Security Services

About the role

The Group Technology team of a major bank is looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to strengthen its Security Operations Center. You will monitor global cyber‑threats, respond to alerts, and support incident investigations across the bank’s infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor worldwide cybersecurity events and escalate relevant incidents to the L2 team.
• Perform risk assessment and analysis on security tools such as anomaly‑detection systems, firewalls, antivirus, and proxy devices.
• Execute predefined response actions, lead small ad‑hoc projects and maintain operational documentation.
• Create and maintain KPI reports, weekly and monthly metrics, and ensure timely ticket closure.
• Participate in the vulnerability and threat‑management assessment phase and update the threat‑intel knowledge base.
• Support security incident response investigations regardless of location.
• Keep SOC runbooks and procedures up‑to‑date and collaborate with the Team Lead to improve methodologies.

Required profile

• Experience in security operations, preferably with incident‑management exposure.
• Background in the banking sector is a plus.
• Familiarity with security products, network devices and enterprise‑grade security architectures.
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, GCIA, CCNA, etc.) are preferred.

Required skills

• Anomaly detection systems, firewalls, antivirus, proxy devices.
• Operating systems: UNIX, AIX, Linux, Windows.
• Network fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, web and wireless security architectures.
• Encryption and authentication methods: 2FA, DES/AES/RSA, SSL/TLS, IPSec, digital certificates, DMZ design.
• Intrusion detection and prevention: NIDS/NIPS, HIPS, packet‑level analysis.
• Vulnerability assessment tools, penetration testing, forensic analysis.
• Threat‑intelligence feed handling and knowledge‑base updates.
