Deputy MLRO (Payments)

About the role

The Deputy MLRO (Payments) will support the Group MLRO in a fast‑growing regulated payments fintech. The role bridges regulatory advisory and AML operations, ensuring the business meets evolving payment services and financial‑crime requirements across multiple licensed markets.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply payment services, AML/CFT and related financial‑crime regulations.
• Maintain and update AML/CFT policies, compliance frameworks and control documentation.
• Conduct regulatory gap analyses, horizon scanning and impact assessments for new products, partners or operating models.
• Advise KYC, financial‑crime and business teams on CDD/EDD standards, periodic reviews, record‑keeping, STR/SAR handling and new product flows.
• Support the MLRO in regulatory reporting and liaison with authorities.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in regulatory compliance, financial‑crime compliance or risk advisory within a regulated payment services firm.
• Strong knowledge of payment services regulations, AML/CFT and financial‑crime requirements.
• Proven experience drafting or enhancing AML/CFT policies, compliance frameworks and regulatory gap assessments.

Required skills

• Understanding of AML operations, including CDD/EDD, transaction monitoring, STR/SAR processes and remediation.
