Deputy/Assistant Director, AI Development (Data Strategy)

About the role

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) supports the responsible adoption of AI across the financial sector through its Financial Infrastructure & Artificial Intelligence Office (FIA). This 3-year contract role strengthens the data foundations for AI innovation in Singapore's financial sector, developing data partnerships and industry data initiatives that bring together financial institutions, technology companies, researchers and public-sector agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strategies for data partnerships, data infrastructure and industry data initiatives that support AI innovation in financial services
• Shape policies and the regulatory framework for secure data sharing, partnering with data architects to align policy with data governance and responsible use of AI
• Work with banks, insurers, FinTechs and technology leaders to facilitate dialogue and drive collective action on data sharing and high-impact AI use cases
• Manage project timelines of high-impact use cases and evaluate their effectiveness against industry innovation and consumer benefit

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in strategy, consulting or business development within financial services, technology or the public sector
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder partnerships and turn strategies into results
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities and responding to change

Required skills

• Understanding of data infrastructure, data governance, data-sharing models and AI, including technical and policy considerations
• Experience developing strategies, frameworks or initiatives involving data, digital infrastructure or industry-wide collaboration
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, engaging from technical experts to C-suite executives
• Strong writing, with experience preparing policy papers and presentations
