Design Engineer

About the role

Trelleborg Singapore is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Research & Development team. Reporting to the Engineering Director, you will create 3D models, engineering drawings, and maintain project documentation while supporting the full product development cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineered designs from concept through project award, delivering 3D models and detailed drawings.
• Maintain and run finite‑element analysis tools (e.g., Abaqus) to support product innovation.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Production, and customers to define and agree on design specifications.
• Prepare design deliverables such as drawings, data sheets, and specification documents for submission.
• Participate in engineering clarification meetings and assist QA/QC with issue resolution and method statements.
• Oversee testing of new products, develop testing standards, and analyse results.
• Occasionally travel overseas for short assignments as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering design.
• Strong project management and teamwork abilities across multicultural environments.
• Interest or experience in maritime, infrastructure, or manufacturing sectors.
• High integrity, good work ethics, and proactive problem‑solving attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD SolidWorks.
• Experience using FEA Abaqus.
