Design Manager - Experience

About the role

A leading global consumer technology company is looking for an experienced Design Manager - Experience to shape end-to-end experiences across intelligent and connected products. This is a strategic design leadership role covering physical product, HMI, digital interfaces, mobile apps, onboarding and connected ecosystems. The role works at the intersection of Design, Technology and Product, turning complex technical capabilities into intuitive, premium and engaging experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Define the end-to-end digital experience: user journeys, behaviours and interactions across everyday use, complex states, faults and edge cases, working with Digital Design and Software teams
• Shape the physical product experience: controls, sensors, displays, audio feedback, haptics, connectivity and product behaviour, with Product Design, Engineering and HMI teams
• Own the onboarding journey, from unboxing and quick-start to activation, setup, app connection and first use
• Define the HMI and on-product experience vision, ensuring physical and digital interfaces form one cohesive experience
• Stay ahead of emerging technologies, robotics and interaction models, and turn those insights into experience strategies for current and future products
• Act as the experience design voice, balancing user value, technical feasibility, cost, timelines and product ambition

Required profile

• Significant experience leading end-to-end product or experience design
• Portfolio showing premium consumer products or technology-led experiences
• Experience defining experiences across multiple touchpoints, not just isolated interfaces
• Experience with physical product interaction, HMI or connected devices; robotics experience is a strong advantage
• Ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary design teams and manage stakeholders
