Design Technology Teacher (High & Middle School)

About the role

UWCSEA Dover is seeking an experienced and passionate Design Technology teacher to deliver curriculum for both High School and Middle School students starting August 2027. The role involves teaching Product Design and Food Technology, preparing students for IB Design Technology at Higher and Standard Levels, and contributing to a vibrant, concept‑driven learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Product Design and Food Technology for Middle School and High School cohorts.
• Design and implement assessments that support ongoing learning, providing timely feedback.
• Maintain effective classroom management, addressing academic, social, and emotional dimensions of learning.
• Collaborate with the Design Technology department and broader school teams to enhance curriculum and pedagogy.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, mentor groups, and outdoor education trips.

Required profile

• A good degree in Design and Technology or a closely related discipline.
• Recognised teaching qualification or certification.
• Previous experience teaching Design and Technology to learners aged 11‑18.
• Commitment to UWCSEA’s five pillars: Academics, Activities, Outdoor Education, Personal & Social Education, and Service.
• Willingness to embrace diversity, inclusion, and adapt pedagogy to meet varied learner needs.
