Desktop Support Engineer – 1 Year Contract

About the role

We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join our fast‑paced trading environment on a 1‑year contract. You will be the first point of contact for end‑users, ensuring that workstations, trading applications and related technology run smoothly and securely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 IT support for end‑user devices, applications and workplace technology.
• Manage and resolve incidents and service requests in line with SLAs.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows operating systems and IT peripherals.
• Support trading platforms and market‑data systems such as Bloomberg, Reuters/Eikon and WebICE.
• Assist with trader workstation setups, including multi‑monitor configurations and specialised devices, and troubleshoot performance or connectivity issues.
• Perform device imaging and system setup to ensure standard configurations.
• Manage IT asset procurement, inventory and vendor coordination.
• Escalate complex issues when required and maintain accurate support documentation.
• Identify recurring issues and contribute to process and service improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 1–3 years of desktop support or IT help‑desk experience, preferably in the energy or trading sector.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, end‑user devices and basic networking.
• Understanding of IT asset management and vendor coordination processes.
• Familiarity with trading platforms or market‑data systems (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters/Eikon, WebICE) is highly advantageous.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to manage stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment.
