Device Engineer – Semiconductor Yield Improvement

About the role

STMicroelectronics is seeking a Device Engineer to drive yield improvement for semiconductor wafers. The role focuses on analysing zero‑yield and low‑yield wafers, resolving process issues, and ensuring robust manufacturing flow to meet customer delivery commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse zero‑yield and low‑yield wafers to identify root causes and implement yield improvement actions.
• Collaborate with module teams to resolve process issues and maintain smooth line flow.
• Characterise process windows to enhance process robustness.
• Coordinate with division teams (ADG, AMS, AMG, MDG) for technology and product transfer activities within defined timelines.
• Participate in weekly yield update calls and develop yield master plans.
• Lead MRB meetings regarding disposition of SBL lots on a weekly basis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics (MOSFETs, BJTs, diodes, power devices).
• Experience with electrical characterization equipment such as parametric testers, curve tracers, SMUs, LCR meters and probers.
• Basic knowledge of front‑end semiconductor manufacturing processes (diffusion, implantation, oxidation, lithography, etch, metallisation).
• Proficiency in data analysis using tools like JMP or Excel.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
