Director, Business Development – Lead Logistics Partner (APAC)

About the role

The Director of Business Development for Lead Logistics Partner (LLP) in APAC will own regional sales performance and drive revenue growth for DHL Supply Chain’s LLP portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, the role is responsible for achieving new‑business targets, managing major bids and ensuring profitable customer solutions across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a best‑in‑class LLP growth strategy, targeting priority sectors and customers while building a robust sales pipeline.
• Lead commercial negotiations, pricing, contract approvals and deliver compelling proposals to senior customers.
• Translate complex customer requirements into structured solution frameworks and collaborate with solution design, IT, value creation and operations teams.
• Drive renewal and retention programmes to protect and grow gross profit, ensuring compliance with DHL commercial controls.
• Secure internal buy‑in from Country MDs, Cluster CEOs and the APAC Management Board and hand over closed deals to implementation teams.
• Influence and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across functions, regions and global teams in a matrix organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in logistics product development, business development or commercial roles.
• Proven track record of delivering results in a complex, matrixed regional or global environment.
• Deep knowledge of LLP products, the marketplace and evolving customer needs.
• Strong commercial acumen with understanding of cost drivers across 4PL, contract logistics and international freight.
• Demonstrated ability to lead transformational growth through consultative selling.
• Willingness to travel up to 30 % across the APAC region.
