Director, Centre for Technology and Development

About the role

The Centre for Technology and Development (CTeD) at Duke‑NUS Medical School seeks an experienced, dynamic leader to drive strategic innovation and entrepreneurship across the institution and its partnership with SingHealth. As a senior member of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Director will shape the commercialisation pipeline from discovery to market impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and scaling of a world‑class commercialisation platform in collaboration with SingHealth Duke‑NUS AMC.
• Build, mentor and manage a team of technology managers and commercialisation professionals.
• Design and launch programmes that accelerate translational research, venture creation and licensing.
• Identify, assess and protect high‑potential innovations, applying scientific and commercial rigor.
• Negotiate and execute licensing, investment and partnership agreements with global entrepreneurs, investors and industry partners.
• Establish operating models, governance frameworks and SOPs for technology transfer aligned with institutional mission.
• Foster professional development and a culture of accountability throughout the innovation lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in technology transfer, biotech licensing or related innovation ecosystems.
• Strong track record of building and managing high‑performing commercialisation teams.
• Demonstrated ability to engage senior academic, clinical and industry stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with deep understanding of life‑science markets and venture creation.
