Director, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) – APAC

About the role

Lead the execution of Stryker’s EHS strategy across the Asia Pacific region, shaping safe and environmentally responsible workplaces across manufacturing, distribution, laboratory, commercial and field environments.

Key responsibilities

• Drive regional implementation of global EHS standards, adapting programmes to local regulatory and cultural contexts.
• Establish and monitor EHS metrics, dashboards and reporting to improve performance and reduce injuries.
• Champion a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, training and development of EHS champions.
• Coach and develop EHS talent while influencing senior stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
• Provide regional leadership during significant incidents, ensuring effective investigations and corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, occupational health and safety, engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of EHS experience in a global, regulated organization, preferably in medical technology or pharmaceuticals.
• Proven experience leading multi‑site EHS programmes across manufacturing, commercial and distribution environments.
• Strong executive communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Willingness to travel 30‑40% across APAC and fluency in Mandarin.

Required skills

• Knowledge of EHS regulations, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (preferred).
