Director, HR Partnering

About the role

NTU is looking for a Director of Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP) to report to the Chief Human Resource Officer. The role leads a team of HR Business Partners that drive strategic HR initiatives, empowering people, strengthening culture and advancing the university's mission. It is a high-impact leadership position for someone who wants to build engaged HR Partnering teams and deliver exceptional HR experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement HR strategies aligned with the university's vision and objectives, and partner with the Chief HR Officer to set HR priorities and lead enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of HR Business Partners, building a collaborative, high-performing team.
• Build strong relationships with university leadership and departments, act as a trusted advisor, and drive employee engagement and employee relations across the employee lifecycle.
• Work with the Talent Acquisition Centre of Excellence to recruit talent with the right competencies, and coach managers on career development and leadership growth.
• Champion organizational excellence, job redesign and resource optimization through HR initiatives.
• Review and refine HR strategies, policies and procedures for Faculty and Research Schemes, and recommend changes to improve HR service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of HR experience, including at least 10 years in a leadership role.
• Deep knowledge of the full HR spectrum and proven ability to lead strategic initiatives.
• Strong leadership presence, able to inspire, coach and influence without authority; strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a resourceful, pragmatic, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Solid understanding of the Employment Act and labour laws.
