Director of Cargo – South East Asia

About the role

The Director of Cargo for South East Asia will lead the commercial, operational and financial coordination of the region’s cargo business. Reporting to senior management, the role is responsible for driving revenue growth, sales performance and regional strategy across multiple markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the regional cargo sales strategy to meet revenue, volume and profitability targets.
• Identify new business opportunities, trade lanes and strategic partnerships across SEA.
• Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, freight forwarders, agents and GSA partners.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and capacity developments to optimise yield.
• Oversee cargo operations, ensuring compliance with company standards and resolving operational challenges.
• Analyse financial performance, manage budgets, receivables and profitability for the region.
• Prepare forecasts, budgets and financial projections and present insights to senior management.
• Coach and develop managers and commercial teams, setting clear KPIs and performance expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Aviation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing or related field.
• 8‑10 years of experience in aviation, air cargo, freight forwarding or logistics, with senior leadership experience across multiple countries.
• Proven expertise in air cargo sales, operations, commercial strategy and financial management.
• Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in Turkish and English (written and spoken).
• Willingness to travel frequently within South East Asia and internationally.
