Director of Finance (Pre-Opening)

About the role

The Director of Finance (Pre-Opening) is a key member of the hotel’s 4D structure, providing financial leadership and technical expertise during the launch phase. Reporting to the General Manager, this role ensures robust accounting processes, tight financial control, and compliance with all statutory and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial accounting processes and maintain a strong internal control environment.
• Manage accounting records, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with company, owner, statutory, and fiscal requirements.
• Maintain accurate balance sheets, perform regular reconciliations, and review asset and liability positions.
• Ensure adherence to the Management Agreement with Hilton International and any Owner/Lease agreements.
• Control hotel assets, liabilities, revenue, and costs on behalf of both operator and owner.
• Ensure legal, tax, and insurance compliance, including pension scheme administration where applicable.
• Obtain and maintain necessary permits and licenses for hotel operations.
• Safeguard and update all leases and contracts affecting the hotel’s financial status.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in hotel finance, preferably in a pre‑opening environment.
• Proven ability to provide strategic financial advice to senior management.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Leadership skills to manage the finance function and drive continuous improvement.
