Director of Financial Control – Back-End Cost Management

About the role

We are looking for a Director of Financial Control to lead back‑end cost management for our semiconductor assembly and testing operations. The role will be based in Singapore and will work closely with operations, engineering and finance teams across three semiconductor divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse manufacturing costs for back‑end processes, including materials, labour, equipment usage and overhead at internal and outsourced facilities.
• Identify cost variances, perform root‑cause analysis and deliver actionable recommendations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning for back‑end operations.
• Develop cost dashboards, KPIs and regular management reports on cost trends and savings opportunities.
• Partner with engineering and production to drive cost‑reduction initiatives and evaluate financial impact of process changes.
• Oversee inventory valuation for raw materials, WIP and finished goods, and ensure proper capitalization and depreciation of equipment.
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting standards and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field (Master’s, CPA/CMA a plus).
• 9+ years of cost‑control experience, preferably in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of back‑end semiconductor processes and cost drivers.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, especially SAP.
• Advanced Excel modelling and analysis.
