Director of Teaching and Learning

About the role

Stamford American International School, an IB World School in Singapore serving students aged 2 months to 18 years, is looking for a Director of Teaching and Learning to join its Teaching and Learning team. The Director reports to the Deputy Head of School and provides strategic, systems-level leadership for curriculum, instruction and assessment across the school, ensuring consistency across grade levels, subschools and campuses.

Key responsibilities

• Operationalize the Deputy Head of School's academic oversight at curriculum and faculty level, turning programme proposals and design decisions into coherent, high-quality practice.
• Ensure curriculum, assessment and instruction are consistent across the school and that professional learning is strategic and impactful.
• Translate the Deputy Head of School's academic priorities into clear direction, programme goals and accountability.
• Communicate clearly with a wide range of audiences, including parents, and facilitate collaborative, learning-focused dialogue.
• Coach teachers and leaders through evidence-informed feedback and professional partnership.
• Lead strategic initiatives to completion while anticipating issues and finding effective solutions.

Required profile

• Master's degree required.
• International-school and N-G12 experience strongly preferred in an inclusive learning community.
• Three years of administrative experience with proven success leading curriculum and assessment development.
• Experience developing, implementing and overseeing professional learning systems.
• International Baccalaureate training and experience in PYP, MYP and/or DP.
• Deep understanding of research on N-12 learning, differentiated instruction, curriculum development, digital learning and social-emotional learning.
• Experience infusing innovation into curriculum and instruction and fostering an inclusive community.
