Director Research Science – Warm‑Water Aquatic Animal Health

About the role

The Director of Research Science will lead the Warm‑Water Aquatic Animal Health R&D team in Singapore, overseeing both people and facilities. Reporting to the Global Species Head Aqua, the role ensures compliance with GLP, RQS, SHE and local regulations while driving vaccine and therapy development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all Aquatic Animal Health R&D projects, ensuring milestones, regulatory compliance and timely product launch.
• Manage the R&D operational and product development teams, fostering an inclusive, high‑performance culture.
• Oversee site assets, budgeting, procurement, maintenance and retirement to optimise efficiency.
• Maintain GLP/RQS quality systems, EHS standards and animal welfare requirements.
• Act as the local representative to government, scientific and commercial communities and coordinate with marketing, sales and regulatory affairs.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Biology, Veterinary Science or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical R&D experience, preferably in vaccine development, and at least 3 years leading R&D teams.
• Deep knowledge of warm‑water fish farming, disease epidemiology and current aquatic veterinary practices.
• Demonstrated results orientation, customer focus and innovative thinking.
• Strong commitment to corporate values, teamwork and ethical compliance.
