Draftsman – 3D CAD & Manufacturing Drawings

About the role

BeeX is seeking a Draftsman to transform engineering concepts for its autonomous underwater vehicle models into precise, build‑ready 3D models, 2D drawings and BOMs. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineers as well as external vendors, both in the workshop and at the office.

Key responsibilities

• Produce and maintain 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings for vehicle parts such as pressure hulls, thruster mounts and brackets.
• Apply GD&T, tolerancing and drawing standards to ensure parts are built correctly the first time.
• Prepare assembly drawings, exploded views and wiring harness layouts in collaboration with the electrical team.
• Support mechanical engineers with design iterations, fit and interference checks, and basic calculations.
• Maintain BOMs, part numbers, revision history and manage engineering change requests.
• Prepare RFQ drawing packs and liaise with vendors on quotes and manufacturability.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Marine or related engineering.
• 1–3 years of drafting or junior design experience; fresh graduates with a strong CAD portfolio are welcome.
• Careful, organised approach to revision control and documentation.
• Comfortable working hands‑on in a workshop environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred; Fusion 360, Inventor or Creo acceptable).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards (ISO/ASME).
• Experience with common manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, 3D printing and sheet‑metal fabrication.
• Ability to create and manage BOMs and part numbers.
