EDE Equipment Development Engineer - PCVD

About the role

Micron is looking for an EDE Equipment Development Engineer focused on PCVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) equipment. The role supports the development of new or enhanced semiconductor tools and subsystems, working under engineer supervision and collaborating with vendors, manufacturing, process engineering and facilities teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support equipment development activities for new or enhanced semiconductor tools and subsystems.
• Assist with tool characterization, engineering experiments and data collection during development or early deployment.
• Analyze equipment data to support capability assessments, design learning and risk reduction.
• Support documentation of equipment requirements, engineering changes, lessons learned and development reports.
• Participate in tool build, installation, upgrade and qualification from a development perspective.
• Prepare technical summaries and presentations for development reviews and project achievements.
• Adhere to safety, environmental and cleanroom requirements.
• Maintain and publish roadmaps defining the work and CIPs needed to move toolsets from one EMI level to the next before transfer to HVM.
• Use AI to streamline workflows, optimize processes and enable data-driven decisions across projects and teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at once, applying available resources or seeking help from peers and management.
• Remarkable oral and written communication skills, able to communicate clearly locally and globally.

Required skills

• Understanding of PVD or CVD equipment operation, working principles, fixing and tool installation procedures.
• Exposure to R&D PCVD equipment transfer and the ability to develop or optimize equipment hardware design.
• Preferred: exposure to PCVD pump, abatement and chiller selection and optimization of equipment hardware design.
