EHS Specialist – Pharma Operations & Environmental (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist to support facility decommissioning, decontamination and cease‑operation activities for a leading global biopharmaceutical manufacturer in Tuas. The role will focus on high‑risk work programs, including confined space entry, dangerous goods handling and biosafety, ensuring zero lost‑time incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain site EHS performance in line with local regulations and corporate standards.
• Support the development and implementation of the EHS Management System.
• Provide EHS advice, walk‑downs and inspections for decommissioning, demolition and cease‑operation projects.
• Participate in accident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments and audits according to MOM and company guidelines.
• Deliver EHS training to enhance employee awareness and competence.
• Report EHS performance data in the corporate system promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental, Chemical or related engineering discipline.
• 5‑8 years of EHS experience in chemical, petrochemical or pharmaceutical environments.
• Hands‑on experience with contractor safety management and high‑risk work programs.
• Strong knowledge of local EHS regulations and corporate policies.

Required skills

• Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification.
• Workplace Safety and Health (WSHO) certification.
• Process safety, industrial hygiene and biosafety expertise.
• Confined space entry and dangerous goods handling.
• Accident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• EHS audit, inspection and risk assessment.
• Effective EHS training delivery.
