Electrical Commissioning Engineer

About the role

The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will support planning, coordination and execution of testing and commissioning for LV and MV electrical power systems. The role involves performing commissioning tasks, analysing test data, resolving technical issues and preparing documentation to ensure successful delivery according to specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate testing and commissioning activities for LV and MV systems following approved procedures.
• Review electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, specifications and commissioning procedures for accuracy before site execution.
• Prepare commissioning schedules, test procedures, method statements and related documentation.
• Conduct pre‑commissioning, functional, system verification and performance testing to validate system functionality.
• Analyse test results, identify technical issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform fault diagnosis and provide technical support during commissioning.
• Prepare commissioning reports, inspection records, test results and handover documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, consultants, contractors and vendors to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, statutory requirements and safety regulations.
• Support energisation, integrated system testing and project handover activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning of electrical power systems.
• Experience in metro rail, industrial, power generation or infrastructure projects is advantageous.

Required skills

• LV and MV electrical systems knowledge.
• Familiarity with SCADA, ETTS and substation automation.
• Understanding of power distribution systems.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams and technical specifications.
• Competence in preparing test procedures, method statements and commissioning documentation.
• Strong analytical and fault‑diagnosis skills.
