Electrical Engineer – TTSH Medical Tower

About the role

Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), the flagship tertiary hospital of NHG Health, is developing its Phase 2 campus, anchored by the new TTSH Medical Tower which will add about 600 acute beds, an expanded Emergency Department, more operating theatres and specialist clinics. You will join the Medical Tower Planning and Development team, providing electrical engineering expertise across design, construction and commissioning, and representing TTSH's technical interests so that the electrical systems meet clinical requirements, regulatory standards and operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Review electrical drawings, specifications and submissions from consultants and contractors for compliance with clinical requirements, Singapore building codes and international healthcare standards, and resolve technical gaps with consultants.
• Ensure LV/HV distribution, emergency power, UPS, lighting and building management systems suit a high-acuity hospital environment.
• Attend site inspections and technical meetings, review RFIs, site queries and variation orders, and coordinate with mechanical, structural and architectural teams to resolve clashes.
• Support testing and commissioning, review commissioning reports and test results, and take part in technical handover, snagging and defects rectification.
• Maintain records of submissions, approvals, test results and as-built documentation, and support capital grant justifications and technical submissions.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience, including design, construction or commissioning of electrical systems on major building projects.
• Experience in healthcare facilities or large institutional buildings strongly preferred.
• Strong coordination and communication skills with consultants, contractors and clinical users.
• Relevant licences or certifications such as Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW - EMA) are an advantage.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Singapore building codes, EMA regulations and healthcare electrical standards, including emergency power and critical care systems.
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and specifications.
