Engine Engineer – Diesel Vessels

About the role

The Engine Engineer will lead the diesel workshop operations, overseeing repair and overhaul projects for commercial and naval vessels. You will ensure that all work meets customer specifications, deadlines, and quality standards while fostering a safe and productive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day activities of the diesel workshop, coordinating engine repair and overhaul projects.
• Supervise engineers and technicians, ensuring compliance with engine protocols, Critical Process Inspections (CPI), task sheets, and workshop procedures.
• Monitor project progress to meet delivery targets and maintain high quality assurance.
• Enforce yard safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture through active leadership.
• Oversee engine warranty, claims, and job acceptance processes.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in shipyards or OEMs specializing in diesel engines.
• Proven ability to manage multiple engine repair/overhaul projects and lead teams in workshop and onboard settings.

Required skills

• Engine overhauling and applied mechanics.
• Pneumatic, hydraulic, and piping system troubleshooting.
• Basic electrical system knowledge.
• Familiarity with engine warranty and claims procedures.
