Engineer / Senior Engineer – Building & Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Building and Infrastructure Programme Centre, where you will work with multi‑disciplinary teams to shape and enhance the capabilities of our defence facilities to support MINDEF/SAF’s operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Manage construction projects for MINDEF/SAF from planning through tendering, site management and transition to Operations & Support.
• Conduct feasibility and front‑end studies, develop project plans, budgets and schedules.
• Prepare and evaluate invitations to quote and tender submissions to ensure objectivity and compliance with budget, schedule and deliverables.
• Conduct design reviews to verify that proposed designs meet project requirements.
• Lead regular project meetings and reviews to monitor design development and site progress.
• Oversee inspection, testing and commissioning on site to ensure performance specifications are met.
• Monitor and track defect rectification during the Defects Liability Period.
• Stay updated on building industry innovations, policies, governance, real‑estate and facilities maintenance management, and workplace safety and health.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Civil & Structural, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• At least three years of relevant experience in construction project management.
• Good understanding of benchmarks, statutory requirements and Singapore Standards/Code of Practice.
• Knowledge of Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Resourceful with good problem‑solving abilities, able to work independently and in a team.
