English Teacher / Tutor

About the role

A private education centre, registered with the Ministry of Education in Singapore since 2007, is looking for an English teacher to run secondary-level English classes. The centre focuses on exam preparation and helps students develop study skills, motivation and good learning habits. The position is full-time, permanent and based near Bugis, Rochor, Bencoolen and Bras Basah MRT stations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct classes for secondary-level students in English, following the provided course structure and materials.
• Plan courses and prepare academic materials such as handouts, worksheets and homework.
• Give regular, constructive feedback on students' progress, strengths and areas for improvement.
• Mark and grade homework accurately and promptly.
• Provide academic assistance and help identify learning difficulties and barriers to success.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher; prior teaching experience preferred.
• At least 1 year of teaching experience in the Singapore PSLE and O-level English curriculum.
• IELTS score of 7.0 or higher is an added advantage.
• Proficient in both English and Mandarin to communicate with Chinese-speaking students and parents.
• Willing to work on weekends and overtime when required.

What we offer

• Pay of SGD 3,500 to 4,500.
• 44 working hours per week with 1.5 days off, scheduled on weekdays.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday 11am to 8:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:30am to 6:30pm, including breaks; public holidays off.
• Year-end bonus based on performance and overtime pay if required.
