Environmental Consultant – Flora Specialist

About the role

Join Aurecon's Singapore Environment & Planning team as an Environmental Consultant specialising in flora. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary group of experts to deliver high‑quality ecological surveys, tree assessments and biodiversity strategies for complex projects worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct ecological surveys and species assessments across terrestrial and freshwater habitats, focusing on rare, protected and sensitive ecosystems.
• Perform tree inventories and arboriculture assessments, including risk evaluations, measurement, tagging, mapping and condition documentation.
• Provide identification and management guidance for native, non‑native and invasive plant species, recommending sustainable interventions.
• Review specialist reports and advise designers on planting palettes, retention and ecological enhancement.
• Develop and enforce protection and salvaging standards for trees, flora and saplings within Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (EMMP).
• Utilise GIS for habitat mapping and collaborate with arborists, nurseries and other stakeholders to support EIAs and BIAs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Forestry or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in ecological work with a focus on flora.
• ISA Certified Arborist qualification.
• Proven fieldwork experience conducting flora or tree surveys.
• Strong knowledge of plant identification and ecological assessment methods.
• Experience supporting or preparing Environmental Impact Assessments is preferred.
