Environmental Designer

About the role

We are seeking an Environmental Designer to join our multidisciplinary team of environmental design consultants, building services engineers and lighting designers. The role involves delivering high‑quality, award‑winning sustainable building services and environmental design solutions for projects across the built environment sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate calculations and design options for environmental design, sustainability benchmarking, building energy optimisation, daylight and shading design.
• Collaborate with clients, architects and internal teams to develop and refine project briefs.
• Coordinate with in‑house engineers, graphics team and external consultants to ensure timely delivery of design proposals.
• Maintain project overviews, update line managers and contribute to project management activities.
• Support marketing and client liaison activities, reporting feedback and fostering positive relationships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in sustainability, engineering, architecture, building services or related field.
• 0‑3 years of experience in sustainability consulting, design firms or engineering environments.
• LEED AP accreditation (required); GMM/GMP certification is a plus.
• Strong interest in environmental and energy‑efficient design and willingness to develop specialist skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign and Rhino.
• Experience with Revit, R, Grasshopper, Ladybug/Honeybee, Radiance, eQuest, EnergyPlus, IES and D3.
• Knowledge of green rating schemes such as LEED and Green Mark.
