Environmental Health and Safety Intern

About the role

ERM Singapore, a sustainability consulting firm, is looking for interns for its Environmental Health and Safety practice. The internship lasts 3 to 6 months starting in September and offers exposure to large, complex, long-term projects within a global technical network.

Key responsibilities

• Work on research projects or tasks related to specialist areas such as Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), contaminated site management and remediation, performance-based auditing, sustainability reporting, and M&A environmental aspects.
• Support consultants and project sponsors on process safety and risk, including project and proposal work and, depending on availability, supervised site visits.
• Carry out consequence modelling using software and assist in maintaining the company's management systems.
• Do independent research and help with reporting.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical/Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, Marine Biology, Ecology, Socioeconomics, Anthropology, Forestry or an equivalent field from a reputable university.
• Proven ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills and a "can do" attitude.
• Ability to take direction and work in multi-disciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong report writing and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
