Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) Associate

About the role

The Environmental Sustainable Design (ESD) Associate will join a multidisciplinary team of architects and engineers to support green building projects across Singapore and overseas. This entry‑level position offers the chance to contribute to sustainability, decarbonisation and carbon‑advisory initiatives while developing technical expertise in energy analysis and building performance.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on ESD, Green Mark, GBI, LEED and WELL projects.
• Assist in managing sustainability, decarbonisation and carbon‑advisory projects.
• Perform high‑level energy analysis and benchmark consumption against best‑practice guidelines and net‑zero roadmaps.
• Provide cost‑effective solutions to improve building performance and sustainability.
• Research, review and implement industry best practices in sustainable building design.
• Conduct performance simulations such as energy modelling, CFD, daylighting & glare analysis, and solar insolation studies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in M&E, Architecture, building services or a sustainability‑related field (Master’s in Sustainability is a plus).
• Entry‑level candidates are welcome; prior professional ESD experience is not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of building physics and HVAC (ACMV) systems.
• Ability to manage tasks, costs and timelines effectively.
• Proactive, self‑driven attitude with a keen interest in innovative solutions.

Required skills

• Energy modelling software – IESVE or EnergyPlus.
• Excel‑based energy calculations.
• OpenStudio and Rhino (preferred).
• CFD, daylighting analysis and solar insolation studies.
• Building physics and ACMV system knowledge.
