Equipment Engineer (AI & Data Analytics)

About the role

GlobalFoundries is looking for an Equipment Engineer in its Cleantech team, based in Woodlands, Singapore. The role sits at the intersection of advanced manufacturing, equipment engineering, data analytics and AI-driven optimization. You will support and improve semiconductor manufacturing equipment while using machine data and analytics to understand equipment behaviour, spot performance trends and drive smarter, data-driven manufacturing decisions. Candidates who enjoy taking apart and assembling parts are welcome, as are those without prior work experience, since comprehensive training and development will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse equipment and manufacturing data to identify trends, optimise performance and support predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Use AI tools, automation technologies and digital solutions to improve equipment reliability, efficiency and productivity.
• Monitor key equipment performance metrics and turn complex data into actionable insights and improvement initiatives.
• Combine hands-on troubleshooting with data-driven analysis to resolve technical and operational issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on equipment, automation and smart manufacturing projects.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, manufacturing efficiency and technology adoption.
• Maintain equipment knowledge, documentation and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with EHS&S requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
• Work normal, swing, day and night shifts depending on project and scope.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Preferred: prior related internship or co-op experience, and demonstrated leadership experience in workplace, school projects or competitions.
• Preferred: project management skills, including navigating ambiguity.
