Executive Director – Aerospace Office (AERO)

About the role

The Executive Director will lead the Aerospace Office (AERO) in Singapore, acting as the central hub for aerospace research, strategy development, and industry translation of research outcomes. This senior position oversees programme management, ecosystem development, and technology strategy to grow Singapore’s aerospace ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the AERO PMO to solicit, curate, and launch consortium projects that address industry problem statements.
• Forge collaborations with key aerospace companies to develop capabilities and anchor new or expanded operations in Singapore.
• Monitor project progress, ensure milestone delivery, and drive industry adoption of research outcomes.
• Plan and execute bi‑annual consortium programme committee meetings and industry workshops.
• Engage and grow the aerospace ecosystem by connecting research performers, industry players, public agencies, and professional associations.
• Organise the Singapore Aerospace Technology Leadership Forum alongside the Singapore Airshow and host related exhibitions.
• Facilitate IP commercialisation with multinational corporations and SMEs.
• Strategise and refresh the aerospace R&D roadmap through industry consultation and technology deep‑dives.
• Convene the six‑monthly aerospace governing board meetings.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in engineering, preferably aerospace or aeronautical.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in aerospace, especially in MRO, technology development, or project management.
• At least 5 years in a leadership role managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with Singapore’s research ecosystem and public‑private partnership models.
• Strategic mindset for developing aerospace technologies and innovation.
• Proven programme‑management experience driving technology adoption.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging senior industry leaders.
