Finance Manager (AISG)

About the role

NTU is hiring a Finance Manager for its AISG unit, a 2-year full-time contract. The role covers the financial oversight of research grants, including compliance, reporting and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor all grants managed by AISG to ensure availability and grant compliance
• Ensure financial procedures follow university policy and support year-end audit and tax filing
• Keep standard operating procedures properly documented
• Manage research project financial data so grant submissions are timely and accurate under grant terms and harmonised guidelines
• Prepare periodic grant expense claim and management reports for senior management
• Coordinate with research teams on budgeting and financial reporting
• Liaise with internal and external auditors on grant certification and year-end audits
• Mentor, guide and motivate staff, identify their training needs and opportunities

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CA/CPA/ACCA preferred
• 8-10 years of finance experience, at least 5 in research grant finance (university, research institute or public sector)
• Proven experience supporting grant certification and year-end audits and working with auditors
• Experience supervising and mentoring staff and working with researchers and senior management

Required skills

• Strong experience managing high-volume research grants: budgeting, utilisation monitoring, claims and compliance with grant terms
• Hands-on experience with finance and research grant systems and strong financial reporting
• Detail-oriented, organised, able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced research environment
