Finance Manager - Media Industry

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to lead the full‑set accounting function for our Singapore headquarters and Malaysia entities within the media and production sector. The role combines day‑to‑day bookkeeping, month‑end close, financial reporting and strategic cash‑flow management.

Key responsibilities

• Run full set of accounts for Singapore (HQ) and Malaysia entities in Xero, maintaining a clean GL, AR/AP, fixed assets and project/job costing.
• Lead month‑end close (T+5) and produce management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow) with variance commentary by T+7.
• Prepare consolidated management reports, trend analysis and margin drivers for leadership review.
• Ensure GST (Singapore) and SST (Malaysia) compliance, including rate changes, reconciliations and returns.
• Coordinate annual financial statements, external audit and tax filings in line with SFRS for Small Entities.
• Build and track annual budgets, quarterly re‑forecasts and rolling 13‑week cash‑flow forecasts.
• Partner with account leads on client/project pricing, production budgets and post‑mortems to drive GP% and utilization targets.
• Manage daily cash position, treasury controls, inter‑company settlements and FX where relevant.
• Strengthen AR processes (credit terms, milestone billing, dunning) and forecast cash conversion.
• Oversee AP vendor onboarding, 3‑way matching and payment runs for production/media purchases.
• Supervise payroll and statutory submissions (CPF, EPF, SOCSO) and coordinate with HR on policies and benefits.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting.
• 3‑5 years of full‑set accounting experience, preferably in a marketing agency, studio, production house or media company.
• Hands‑on experience with Singapore and Malaysia finance, including GST, SST and payroll.
• Proficiency in Xero accounting system.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the Kuala Lumpur/JB office.
