Financial Institutions Risk Intern

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Financial Institutions Risk Intern for its International Credit Division, within the Financial Institutions Risk team, a second-line risk unit that manages the credit risk of the bank's portfolio across Banks, Sovereigns, Insurance, Funds and Diversified Financials client segments. The internship runs from 11 January 2027 to 30 June 2027 and is based in Singapore; it is open to Singaporean and PR students only.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and analysing credit risk reports.
• Support the team in conducting credit assessments and due diligence on new and existing clients.
• Help monitor and evaluate the creditworthiness of clients and counterparties.
• Take part in developing and enhancing credit risk models and tools.
• Work with team members to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to special projects and initiatives that improve credit risk management processes.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and a desire to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Ability to work under strict timelines and manage multiple projects at once.
• "Can-do" attitude and quick learning ability.
• Strong written and spoken English, and ability to collaborate across regions and teams.
• Capable of working both independently and within teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Project, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Data analysis and financial modelling skills developed during the internship.
