Financial Services Assurance - Digital Innovation Garage Trainee

About the role

PwC's Financial Services Assurance practice works with organisations to strengthen trust and transparency in financial reporting, and is looking for a graduate with a strong academic background in computer science, information systems or software development. You will join the Digital Innovation Garage (DIG) team, bringing your knowledge of programming and software development to help design and develop solutions that make financial services audits more automated, data-driven and insightful.

Key responsibilities

• Digital solutions: support senior team members in gathering business and data requirements, data analysis and testing for data strategy, data roadmap and data solution projects, and give point-of-view and recommendations on technology and data solution assessments
• Build digital solutions using Python, R, Java or C#, and intermediate-to-advanced Excel (VBA a strong plus), with automation tools such as ABBYY and UiPath
• Data cleansing routines covering standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching, and deployment of global tools across the practice
• Help audit teams and clients extract data from complex IT systems and deliver standard, high-quality data analysis, including bespoke analysis
• Use relational databases and SQL, and techniques such as predictive analytics, web scraping and natural language processing with Python/R
• Analyse and visualise data with tools such as Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau to spot anomalies, unusual patterns and trends

Required profile

• Student with a strong academic background in computer science, information systems or software development
• Highly motivated, enthusiastic, confident and creative, with a good co-curricular record
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, service-oriented and committed to teamwork and excellence

Required skills

• Strong in at least one programming language (Python, R, Java or C#)
