Fire Officer

About the role

GREENSAFE INTERNATIONAL is seeking a dedicated Fire Officer to join its aviation safety team at the Changi Cargo Complex. The role involves monitoring fire protection systems, conducting patrols, and responding to emergencies in a high‑traffic airport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor fire control room (FCR) systems, including fire detection and suppression equipment, according to SOPs.
• Conduct regular fire safety patrols of airline facilities and hangars, checking escape routes, firefighting gear, and hazardous material storage.
• Respond to fire alarm activations and support the incident commander during firefighting and evacuation efforts.
• Serve as fire‑watch during hot‑work operations, ensuring permits and safety checks are in place.
• Report, record, and communicate fire safety incidents, defects, and irregularities to relevant authorities.
• Assist in fire evacuation drills, fire‑warden courses, and safety training sessions.
• Maintain accurate patrol logs, incident records, and follow up on equipment maintenance.
• Uphold professional conduct and attire in line with SIA/SIAEC protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of operational firefighting experience with SCDF, AES, or an industrial fire brigade.
• Physically fit and able to respond to emergencies promptly.
• Familiarity with fire alarm and suppression systems in large or aviation facilities (highly desirable).
• Good knowledge of the Singapore Fire Safety Act, SCDF regulations, and related codes of practice.
• Reliability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Ability to operate inspection tools such as gas detectors and tablet computers for reporting.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Additional certifications in fire safety or CERT are advantageous.
