Firmware Program Management (BIOS/EC)

About the role

HP is hiring for a Firmware Program Management (BIOS/EC) position in Singapore, a fixed-term contract role initially for 2 years with possible extension depending on project needs. The role oversees firmware design and development, leading project teams and providing leadership across cross-organization programs.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and creation of instructional technical manuscripts for firmware operation.
• Allocate resources to programming projects and design detailed plans so firmware works properly.
• Lead multiple project teams of software firmware engineers and internal and outsourced partners through all stages of design and development.
• Manage and expand relationships with internal and outsourced partners on firmware design and development.
• Review and evaluate designs and project activities against design and development guidelines and standards, giving feedback to improve quality and reduce failure risk.
• Provide domain expertise and firmware leadership to cross-organization projects and programs.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers on integration and communication between hardware and firmware, and specify and document communication protocols, system states and feature requirements.
• Drive the integration of new technologies and mentor less-experienced firmware engineers.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or commensurate experience and demonstrated competence.
• Typically 7-10 years of experience, preferably in firmware development or a related field.

Required skills

• CI/CD and Agile or other modern development methods.
• Understanding of software/firmware architecture and its interaction with hardware, software and OS designs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, including negotiating at senior management level.
