FIX Connectivity Engineer (Vice President)

About the role

Citi is hiring a FIX Connectivity Engineer (Vice President) in its Equities Electronic Technology organization, part of the Global FIX Engineering Team. The team covers client onboarding and FIX connection support and maintenance across Citi markets, works with external clients, software vendors and multi-asset business teams, and provides 24/5 follow-the-sun coverage across Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Pune, New York and the UK. The role sits alongside front office, development, QA, BA and production support teams.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain connectivity from external clients to Citi FIX gateways, and support client onboarding and certification for Equity, Derivative and Rates businesses.
• Analyse requirements with business users and technology teams, then implement solutions on Citi's One Execution connectivity platform.
• Migrate existing connectivity from legacy platforms to new ones where needed.
• Provide second-line support for all FIX issues and client connectivity matters.
• Take part in prioritization, project planning, certification and production releases.

Required profile

• Solid 8-10 years of experience in FIX engineering or systems analysis.
• Strong equities domain, market access and client connectivity knowledge; subject matter expert in the FIX protocol.
• Experience in FIX client onboarding and certification projects.
• Able to work independently, with good communication skills and experience on complex, medium-to-large projects.

Required skills

• FIX protocol and networking fundamentals.
• Understanding of electronic trading and financial markets.
• Knowledge of third-party networks and EMS/OMS vendors such as Fidessa, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen and ITG.
• Prior experience with Aegis Client Simulator or other FIX testing and certification tools.
• UNIX, SQL and XML.
