DevOps Engineering Lead (Vice President)

About the role

Citi Commercial Cards & Payments Technology is looking for a DevOps Engineering Lead (Vice President, C13) to drive multi-year engineering strategy and architectural modernization across a hybrid ecosystem of 190+ applications, from legacy mainframe backbones to containerized cloud platforms and automated CI/CD pipelines. The role oversees dozens of agile squads, leads cost optimization, owns SMT risk and governance metrics, and champions the Citi Developer Manifesto.

Key responsibilities

• Define multi-year technical roadmaps and set organization-wide engineering frameworks, design patterns, testing automation and development guidelines.
• Oversee the architecture of 190+ applications and lead cloud migration, decommissioning of legacy platforms and migration of high-throughput workloads to cost-efficient private cloud.
• Standardize CI/CD automation, trunk-based development and infrastructure-as-code toolchains.
• Own engineering quality, delivery velocity and risk metrics for the Senior Management Team, drive 100% Release on Demand and maintain strong DORA metrics.
• Ensure compliance with information security, regulatory and audit requirements across all application lifecycles.
• Mentor lead engineers and senior developers, and act as a trusted advisor to development, QA, infrastructure, product and vendor partners.

Required profile

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of experience in DevOps and automation, including at least 10 years in CI/CD, Jenkins, build pipelines and DevOps automation, and 4+ years in Kubernetes/Cloud CI/CD.
• Experience with the Vision Plus Credit Card system (wallets, API, 3D Secure) and Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint).
• Experience in the financial industry (credit cards) and Agile methodology.

Required skills

• Distributed and next-gen DevOps tools (mandatory); mainframe DevOps is an added advantage.
• Blue Optima, CheckMarx, SonarQube, Blackduck, Python, shell scripting, Splunk/AppD performance monitoring.
• WebSphere, Tomcat, WebLogic deployments and OpenShift/public cloud DevOps.
• Commercial cards modernization experience is an added advantage.
