FL Customer Service Support (Customs Clearance)

About the role

Maersk is looking for a Customer Service Support officer for its FL (FLO FLC) unit. The role covers customs permit processing, shipment status updates and liaison with customs officers and internal customers, working a 5-day week from 8.30am to 6.00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Process import and export customs permits for warehouse goods, and the duty payment permit for local domestic sale.
• Liaise with the customs officer on shipment arrivals and departures and ensure the information entered on the customs permit is accurate.
• Update customers on the status of shipment arrivals and departures.
• Arrange the cheque requisition to the shipping carrier with the Finance division.
• Arrange prompt customs clearance with third-party service providers.
• Liaise with internal customers on goods, receipts and release.

Required profile

• GCE O-level, GCE A-level, or a Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, Administration Management, Logistics/Transportation or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in the logistics industry preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and strong administrative and communication skills.
• Able to work overtime when required; candidates with many years of experience may be considered for a supervisor role.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
• Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is preferred.
• An added advantage is holding the Certificate of Customs Competency Test for Declarants issued by Singapore Customs.
