Fleet Manager – Tanker Operations

About the role
As a Fleet Manager at BSM you will ensure safe, efficient and commercially viable operation of a tanker fleet, leading a high‑performing team, managing client relationships and driving continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and propose improvements and advanced solutions across BSM services.
- Promote Group initiatives and participate in relevant seminars.
- Support usage and compliance of company‑developed software systems and IT platforms.
- Ensure fleet readiness for TMSA and other office audits.
- Fulfill Ship Management Agreements and Charter Parties to the highest standards.
- Share high‑quality data with customers via Livefleet.
- Engage stakeholders such as charterers and oil majors to meet expectations.
- Oversee maintenance and spare parts strategies and monitor vessel condition.
- Ensure compliance with international, flag state, classification and port state regulations and monitor certificate validity.
- Plan and execute dry‑dockings and major overhauls in a timely manner.
- Manage OPEX budget execution and approve purchase orders as required.
- Analyse fleet performance using BI data and prepare statistics for reporting.
- Coordinate superintendent visits and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage fleet team resources, workload allocation, appraisals and career development.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent.
- Chief Engineer or Master Mariner qualification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years as Technical, Marine or LPSQ Superintendent on relevant vessels, or 5 years in ship management/owning operations.
- Experience with tankers is preferred.
