Fleet Manager – Tanker Operations

About the role

As a Fleet Manager at BSM, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and commercially viable operation of a tanker fleet in line with international standards and regulations. You will lead a high‑performing team, manage client relationships and drive continuous improvement to uphold BSM’s reputation for excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and propose improvements and advanced solutions across BSM’s services.
• Promote Group initiatives, support software system usage and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain Ship Management Agreements, Charter Parties and high‑quality data sharing via Livefleet.
• Engage with charterers and oil majors to meet expectations and oversee maintenance and spare‑parts strategies.
• Monitor vessel maintenance, dry‑dockings, certifications and ensure compliance with flag state, classification and port regulations.
• Manage OPEX budget execution, purchase orders and vendor utilisation.
• Analyse fleet performance using BI data, prepare statistics and support superintendent visits.
• Lead fleet team resources, workload allocation, appraisals and career development.
• Approve officer selections and ensure crewing standards in liaison with the Fleet Personnel Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent; Chief Engineer or Master Mariner qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years as Technical, Marine or LPSQ Superintendent on relevant vessels, or 5 years in ship management/owning operations.
• Experience with tankers is preferred.
