Flow Cytometry Scientist

About the role

A Flow Cytometry Scientist is needed to perform and document analytical procedures in a regulated laboratory setting, following company procedures and regulatory guidelines. The role supports data quality, troubleshooting and process improvement, and acts as a technical resource for laboratory staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and document analytical procedures and routine data analysis, checking that results stay within acceptable tolerances.
• Troubleshoot and improve processes to raise data quality, lower costs or shorten turnaround times, including updating standard procedures.
• Identify and document performance errors or unusual results and escalate them to senior lab personnel.
• Prepare data analysis results for upload to the LIMS system under the guidance of senior staff.
• Contribute to CAPA investigations, deviations and their resolution.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, prepare buffers and solutions, and help with good housekeeping and inventory.
• Train other lab personnel in areas of proven competency and take part in continuing education.
• May lead laboratory or cross-functional projects and contribute to the design and execution of routine methods and assays under moderate supervision.

Required profile

• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in biology or chemistry.
• 1 year of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.
• Sound knowledge of the principles, theories and concepts of the job area, and working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control and hazardous chemical handling.
• Strong technical knowledge of complex testing procedures and batch/specimen calculations.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve process issues, handle multiple tasks and communicate clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with relevant laboratory techniques and complex laboratory calculations.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
