Forward Deployed AI Engineer, Singapore (Senior/Principal)

About the role

Cloudera's Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team, part of the Applied AI organization, works directly with enterprise customers to pilot AI use cases, solve real business challenges and help operationalize advanced AI capabilities. As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer based in Singapore, you will embed with customers to design technical use cases and ship scalable enterprise AI/ML solutions on Cloudera.

Key responsibilities

• Build and prototype full-stack AI/ML applications on Cloudera to show how AI and agentic systems solve real enterprise problems
• Work with customer teams to move AI and agentic use cases from early prototype to production readiness
• Advise customer leaders on AI roadmaps, solution design, deployment and use cases
• Standardize successful patterns into reference architectures, productized solutions, starter kits and internal playbooks
• Act as a thought leader, mentor Cloudera teams, and feed field and customer signals back to Product teams

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience building and deploying production-grade systems, including 2-4 years on ML systems or GenAI/agentic applications
• Ability to engage directly with customers, both technical and executive audiences
• High agency, able to work autonomously in fast-moving, ambiguous customer environments
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor others

Required skills

• Full-stack ML application development with modern AI frameworks and tooling
• Foundation models, context engineering, fine-tuning, semantic search, RAG and agentic workflows
• LLMOps/MLOps: evaluation, observability, serving, monitoring and lifecycle management
• Scalable AI architecture aligned to security, governance and compliance
• Nice to have: AWS, Azure, GCP; Cloudera platform; Spark, Iceberg, NiFi; NVIDIA GPUs, inference optimization, model serving
