Forward Deployed Engineer - B2B Wealth Platform

About the role

Arta is building a B2B wealth platform that gives banks and financial platforms access to institutional-grade investment products, using AI and digital tools to make wealth management accessible beyond ultra-high-net-worth individuals. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will design and build the backend systems powering this platform, owning services end-to-end from API design to data models and production reliability, working closely with AI coding agents and LLM-based tooling.

You will be embedded with a partner, working alongside their engineers and inside the systems they already run, and will own a partner integration from early design through to production. You will act as the technical contact for the partner's engineering and product teams, helping with design questions, debugging across the system boundary and getting the integration into production.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical point of contact for a partner's engineering and product teams, advising on integration and implementation approaches and documenting integration decisions for future engagements
• Design, develop and maintain backend services, APIs and data pipelines for partner use cases
• Make architectural decisions on system design, data modelling, service boundaries and infrastructure
• Write clean, well-tested, observable code and use AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) as part of daily work
• Build and integrate LLM and agent-powered backend capabilities such as automated workflows and intelligent data processing
• Build reliable, scalable services integrating with third-party financial systems, including workflow orchestration (Temporal), monitoring and evals, and take part in on-call and incident response

Required profile

• At least 5 years of backend software development experience, preferably with partner-facing experience
• Able to explain technical trade-offs to business stakeholders and sound judgment under pressure
• Comfortable with ambiguity, incomplete specs and being based at a partner site, with occasional travel
• Fluency with AI coding tools and experience building with LLMs and/or agent frameworks (tool use, function calling, MCP, evals)
• Prior experience in trading platforms, brokerage systems or financial infrastructure is a big plus

Required skills

• Python (or similar) and deep understanding of distributed systems, RESTful and/or gRPC APIs, microservices and SQL and NoSQL databases
• Integration work: APIs, data modelling, authentication, moving data between systems
• Designing for reliability, performance and security in production
