Front KYC Advisory Specialist

About the role

Julius Baer is seeking a diligent, detail-oriented KYC specialist to support its Private Banking Relationship Managers. The role prepares and maintains complete and accurate Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation and client due diligence (CDD) profiles in line with local regulations and bank standards. It is a hands-on position for someone meticulous and structured who is familiar with private banking client profiles.

Key responsibilities

• Work with RMs to prepare comprehensive KYC files and narratives for onboarding, periodic reviews and trigger events, including SOW and SOF summaries with clear justifications and plausibility assessments.
• Review client structures (individuals, companies, trusts, foundations) and ensure documentation completeness under local regulations.
• Ensure KYC profiles meet internal quality or compliance standards before submission for approval.
• Guide RMs on CDD requirements and acceptable documentation, and help resolve queries from Compliance or Uplift teams.
• Escalate potential AML concerns or documentation gaps to Compliance or control functions.
• Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing with the onboarding and KYC team.
• Demonstrate values such as honesty, integrity, due care, fair dealing, conflict-of-interest management, competence and compliance with applicable laws.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent in Banking and/or Finance.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in KYC/CDD, AML compliance or financial crime remediation, including large-scale remediation or uplift programmes.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, flexibility and adaptability, and a strong ethical compass.
• Ability to interact with senior management, build trusted partnerships and present sound opinions and solutions.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of KYC risk assessment and SOW/SOF corroboration.
• Knowledge of financial crime compliance standards.
• People skills, with the ability to set and prioritise objectives and tasks.
